Jun Jin, referred to as Acting General Counsel Civil Service, is currently serving in the prestigious role of Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Agency for International Development, and a member of its Senior Executive Service.
Since joining USD in 2004, Mr. Jin has accumulated an extensive range of experience across various legal roles and responsibilities within the organization. His illustrious career path includes leading as Acting General Counsel, overseeing Acquisition and Assistance through his position as Assistant General Counsel for this domn, and providing exceptional guidance to U.S. Government’s President's Emergency Plan for DS Relief PEPFAR and USD missions in Nigeria, based out of Abuja, in the capacity of Regional Legal Advisor. His work also included serving as a Senior Development Advisor at the World Bank Group in the Office of the US Executive Director, and being appointed as Senior Counsel within the GC Division for Acquisition Assistance.
Mr. Jin is notably recognized for his role as the U.S. Government's representative to the for Assessing Procurement Systems MAPS Working Group. Prior to joining USD, he dedicated five years of professional experience as a lawyer in private practice, specializing particularly in government contracts and construction litigation cases. His expertise exts further into academic circles where he has taught courses on international development law and international procurement at The George Washington University Law School, the Elliott School of International Affrs from this same university, and The Columbus School of Law under The Catholic University of America.
Mr. Jin is deeply involved in fostering diversity through his role as Executive Champion to both the Asian Pacific American Employee Council and Arab Americans in Foreign Affrs Agencies, which are employee affinity groups at USD. Additionally, he serves as General Counsel and Board Member for the Asian American Government Executive Network AAGEN, an organization dedicated to promoting professional development among Asian American government executives.
Mr. Jin's academic credentials include graduating from George Washington University Law School and University of Pennsylvania. He is a proud member of D.C.'s Bar Association.
